MTN Cloud Self-Service Admin Guide: Administration Tab

The Administration tab centralizes control over user access, permissions, system integrations, and global configuration settings on MTN Cloud. It is essential for onboarding users, delegating control, enforcing security policies, and enabling external system sync.

🔹 Sub-Tabs Covered:

  • Roles
  • Users
  • Settings

1️⃣ Roles

Roles define permissions and access scopes across the MTN Cloud platform.

🛡️ Purpose:

  • Control what users can see, edit, or provision
  • Enforce least-privilege access
  • Customize roles per use case (e.g., Billing Viewer, VM Operator, Tenant Admin)

✅ How To Use:

  1. Go to Administration > Roles
  2. Click + Add Role
  3. Configure:
    • Name & Description
    • Role: (A combination of permissions), Provide a name and refine permissions for that role, by first copying from a known role on your list
    • Permissions:
      • Enable/disable access to each tab (Provisioning, Monitoring, Library, etc.)
      • Fine-tune by function (e.g., can add instances but not delete)
  4. Save Role — it becomes available for assignment under Users

🧠 Tips:

  • Create a read-only role for auditors
  • Use understandable naming conventions like Ops-VM-Manager, Finance-ViewOnly

2️⃣ Users

Manage all user accounts, tenants, and role assignments.

✅ What You See:

  • Username, Email
  • Assigned Roles
  • Status (Active, Pending, Locked)

✅ How To Add a User:

  1. Go to Administration > Users
  2. Click + Add
  3. Fill in:
    • Name, Username, Email

    • Create user

👮 User Management Tips:

  • Lock or delete users when access is no longer needed
